GIRLS PREPARATORY SCHOOL

Chattanooga, TN  • Grades 6-12, Girls Day

SAMPLE JUDGES' COMMENTS

I want to move into this viewbook. I want to wear this viewbook. Which way to the cafe? I'm ready to meet the other girls.

Impactful and engaging from the first word to the last. Descriptive copy that tells the story in a digestible fashion.

This viewbook essentially features no images, but would be so appealing to girls that it deserves to win. Also, if printing a book, why not incorporate devices like die-cuts, perforations, punch-out megaphones and stickers? These "print-only" bells and whistles embrace the medium.

Wow! Visuals and story endears you to the school immediately. The Sisterhood is reflected honestly and with a passion.

GENERATION BRANDING & COMMUNICATIONS FOR

Cerebral and with heart, this viewbook echoes the strong brand that the school already has in our societal understanding. It's a testament to an already strong brand.

What a fresh perspective! I feel like I just left a campus visit with dozens of awesome tour guides and new best friends.

I really liked this viewbook. The design is clean and photography is excellent!

This conversational book seems to say that Andover believes in reading and talking and writing. In feeling like a conversation, it presents a strong attitude that's probably just right for prospective students and families.

Outstanding overall appeal and feel. Viewbook makes you feel like you are entering into something truly special. Bravo!

Amazing creativity and clever way of integrating the "key" theme throughout. I have been in educational marketing for over 25 years and this may be the best viewbook I have ever seen.

CEH DESIGN FOR
MISS PORTER'S SCHOOL

A colleague who picked up these materials said, "If I had a daughter, I'd want her to go here." The attention to detail was appealing. Loved the key motif, for what it represents and how it was executed. Overall, fun and engaging materials that also would appeal to the teenage girls who are their prospective students (a real key, monograms, sealing wax). Luxury materials in a bright, fresh, unstuffy color palette.

This was an outstanding piece. Writing was fabulous, photography lovely, graphic design clean. Concept was creative. It looks very expensive piece, but given the financial commitment required to send a girl to this school, I think it is appropriate. A class act all the way!

Brava to Miss Porters for having the most comprehensive package with the greatest brand identity and consistency. They clearly invested a lot of money. The student welcome packet is exceptional and must be truly exciting for an admitted candidate to receive--one can only imagine coming home to that bright yellow envelope beckoning from the mailbox and the joy it creates.  High marks for creativity in design.

I loved the contrast of the chip board folder with the perfect bound viewbook. The tagline "K through life" is so simple yet so clever. I loved the icons used throughout the piece. The attention to detail was evident.

I really like this viewbook! I've seen it before and remembered the strong photography and design. I especially like the "student handbook" piece.  Love the illustration elements.

I am likely biased from my intimate knowledge of this school but before you even open the folder, the fact that it is a simple brown cardboard material screams GFS. The material is so authentic to their Quaker values, embracing of simplicity, and commitment to the environment. The high density of photography over text is the perfect balance for a day school, whose primary goal is to get a family to campus, not provide soup to nuts content.

Beautifully designed and printed. Strong narrative and graphics move you through the book and provides a high level of engagement. After a quick glance this package beckons you to go back for a deeper read and more detail. Very well done.

Superb photography and nice paper choice. All pieces worked together nicely and are of equal quality. The copy is strong; not jargon-y. It is a more traditional look and feel, but the good blend of design, copy, and photography keep it fresh.

This is a well-designed book with great photography and intention. It's the kind of viewbook families can spend time with. While it's constant and has rhythm, it also beautifully breaks up the rhythm with spreads like "The Washington Program." Sophisticated and informative.

MCCALLIE SCHOOL

Wow. Student narrated. Lots of action, energy, advice. Driving drumbeat. Opens with splash on the face, determined straightening of tie. Loved Ghandi quote, "Live as if you'll die tomorrow, learn as if you were to live forever." Perfect for guys. Perfect for a boarding school. Well done in a compressed time.

This was made to appeal to young teenage boys who embrace the outdoors and see a school full of opportunities. This beautifully filmed movie with equal attention to good sound and bold editing sets it in a league of its own. Every shot is carefully composed in nice light, every edit is in tune to the vibe of the piece. It's apparent that the school communicated to the fillmaker what makes McCallie different and the filmmaker used this powerful medium to convey the school's uniqueness in a bold and refreshing way. Perfect length for an admissions piece, short and leaves you wanting to discover more about the school. Outstanding.

McCallie hits it out of the park with this video. The punchy, energetic pace keeps you on the edge of your seat to watch what might happen next. The tight, concise edit is very effective, as it keeps the audience in mind. Messaging (visual and audio) are true to the mission. There's no question in my mind who McCallie serves.

Loved the arc of the girl as she started, who she became, then bringing in the mom. Very creative concept. An important message for girls and this is why it impacted me.

What sets this movie apart from others is Amanda's story is told through her own words by 100% example. The messaging isn't boldly stated, as it comes out through the story she tells. We literally see her grow up, as the beautifully lit interviews were shot several years apart. It leaves the viewer wanting to know more about Riverdale. A fresh and thoughtful approach to storytelling.

Loved the questions throughout, starting with the uncertainty of middle school age considering high school. Highly creative. Wish it had ended with the question what if instead of what's next. But so compelling.
