How to Create An Award-Winning Logo: Mission Minded for Holy Trinity High School
/Chosen because Mission Minded won Silver for Logo for their client, Holy Trinity High School, in the 2024 Brilliance Awards. Zach Hochstadt, Founding Partner & Creative Director at Mission Minded, discussed the project.

Step 1: Change Brand Perception
Mission Minded was hired by Holy Trinity High School to correct and enhance the school’s brand perception. The school was seen as a low-cost, unknown Catholic school, with some saying that the school was stuck in the past. This perception was erroneous so Mission Minded set out to prove it through research and strategy. The strategy shifted the narrative to Holy Trinity being seen as the school that provides the human connection students need to transform their world.
Step 2: Focus on Brand Experience
“We knew that there was an opportunity to draw attention to Holy Trinity as a singular and distinct choice that provided accessible excellence for ambitious youth who drive the school’s mission forward,” says Zach Hochstadt, Founding Partner & Creative Director at Mission Minded. “By zeroing in on a brand experience where students feel unstoppable because they are cultivating purpose that will propel them forward, we were able to create a modern monogram that was simultaneously classic and contemporary.”
Step 3: Explore Concepts
Mission Minded explored a range of concepts that included both traditional religious icons, as well as modern interpretations of theological concepts. Zach says, “While the name of the school lends itself to ideas that incorporate triads and triptychs, we also explored concepts that leaned into the school’s architecture and values.”
Step 4: See Enrollment Soar
While Mission Minded reports that the school community responded with pride and enthusiasm, one of the most striking results was the shift in enrollment. In a year-over-year comparison, enrollment jumped a whopping 70% as a result of the new brand strategy, messaging, viewbook, and video.
Advice for Small Shops
“Great creative begins with clear strategy,” says Zach. “To paraphrase Lewis Carroll, if you don’t know where you’re going, any path will get you there. Therefore, to find success, you must first know where you’re headed.”
