The (Abridged) Story

Here we are: Rob Norman and Liza Fisher Norman. We're a couple who met in the 70s at Franklin & Marshall College, got married after 5 years of dating (Liza would have preferred that been shorter), began careers, became parents, worked for other people, created Turnaround Marketing Communications and InspirED School Marketers, and celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2017. Most of our friends say they could never work with their partner, but it has worked for us — and we can never say we don't see enough of each other. ::wink emjoi::

Private School Marketing Is Our Life's Work

In 1991, we established Turnaround Marketing Communications, a branding and marketing firm that specializes in private schools. From Canada to Florida, more than 100 schools turned to Turnaround for brand development; brand stewardship; enrollment marketing; capital campaign and annual fund marketing; graphic identity; viewbook, magazine and case statement design; communication and website assessments; message testing; and many other projects. Our staff of five included designers, a marketing director, and an administrator. (Oh...and three office dogs, always ready to greet a delivery person hoping for a biscuit or give a wagging tail to get a pat.)

We are results-driven and have helped schools uncover and articulate their unique brand, increase inquiries and applications, boost enrollment, improve retention, reach fundraising and campaign goals, build strong marketing offices; motivate faculty as brand ambassadors; improve community relations; and more.

Our work has garnered 36 awards including CASE Circle of Excellence Gold, CASE District II, and the Educational Advertising Awards.

Our children went to private schools, and we did, too. So we know private schools not only as clients, but as students, parents, the president of the PTA, donors, volunteers, and alums.

And, of course, we're the founders of InspirED.
