I sent out an email blast this week and instantaneously after I hit "send," my inbox filled up with numerous responses like this:
I will be out of the office until Monday, July 31. If you need assistance the week of the 24th, please contact XXX. Otherwise, I will respond to your email when I return.
If I had called, I'm guessing that the voicemail message would have been very similar.
I know you're in a rush to get out of the door for that much-needed, much-deserved beach time, but you're missing a marketing opportunity here.
Tell me about an upcoming event, bragging point, or new initiative on campus. Just a few words.
You never know what's going to draw someone in, make them a member of your community, a dedicated donor, or an awesome word-of-mouth promoter.
So try adding a touch of marketing to the end of your email or voicemail and never miss an opportunity to boost your brand.
"Hello, this is Liza. I'm away until August 8th. Please contact XX if you need assistance or I'll return your message when I'm back in the office. By the way, have you heard about Leaf Academy's new performing arts center? You can learn more about it on our website at www.leafacademy.org"
